A Wichita citizen called various local agencies trying to get some help for this duck who had a plastic drink carrier wrapped so tightly around its head it couldn't eat. When no one would go, she called WAAL. Using a fishing net, we were able to trap the duck, cut away the plastic from her head and release her back into the water unharmed.
Please cut your plastic drink holders up before throwing them away. They are biodegradable but can take months to actually decay, doing a lot of damage to wildlife in the process.
